Philippines Poverty Data

The data above shows that 25.2% of the Philippines population, equivalent to 24.37 million, are living below 52 Pesos or 1.20 USD per day (18,935 Pesos per year). The data measures the poorest of the poor, if we increased the threshold to 300 Pesos per day, we would probably get significantly higher number, approximately 50% or higher.

Based on data we could see that majority of the population of the country are not financially well off. The data suggest that poverty reduction policies and programs should be further strengthened.

The lowest poverty incidence was recorded in NCR and CALABARZON area while the highest was in Visayas and Mindanao.

Poverty statistics are released by National Statistical Coordination Board (NSCB) every 3 years.
