Confirmed Cases of COVID-19 Outside China (Part 2)




China's confirmed cases of coronavirus hit 80,904 with 3,123 deaths recorded as of March 10. Outside China, total cases reach 28,696 with 686 deaths; Korea, Italy, and Iran have the highest confirmed cases of coronavirus outside China. Italy has the highest total of deaths at 366, followed by Iran at 194, then Korea at 51.


The number of coronavirus new cases in China drop significantly from a peak of 3,893 on Feb 5 to 45 in Mar 9, showing signs that efforts to curb the spread of the virus in the said region is already taking into effect. 

On the other hand, new cases of coronavirus outside China have shown an increasing trend. From its leap on Feb 16 to 157 new cases, figures have continuously increased up to 3,984 new cases on Mar 9, indicating that the number of new cases outside China might still increase in the following days.


 Number of new deaths caused by a coronavirus in China has declined from its peak on Feb 13 to 254 down to 23 on Mar 9; while, new deaths caused by coronavirus outside China have spiked to 202 on Mar 9.

Based on the data that we have, it is very clear that the coronavirus ball is now at the hands of the regions outside China. We cannot entertain fear but certainly we cannot entertain false hopes. The trend shows that the number of coronavirus new cases and deaths outside China will increase in the next few days, which means every country must do it's best to curb the virus spread; and every citizen of this world must do their part to protect themselves from the virus.
